All fitted and working very well. Took me 2 hours but I did remove an old hands free car kit that was living behind the dashboard. Had to re-connect the speaker cables top remove the 'phone mute box.
I put the unit in the flippy-over cup holder arm rest thingy.
Car is now lighter after the 'phone , three sachets of salt and 37p in loose change has been removed.

I was interested to see where people had placed these, I have one on order and wondered if it would reach to the armrest cubby, any pics of the finished install with the best position?

It reaches into the cubby no problem, drilled a hole then fed the cable through (left hand side of gear stick) to the back of the stereo, a little recess at the bottom of the air con unit made it an easy job. My armrest cubby lid is knackered though so each time I want my SD card out its a ball ache, but thats only because the lid is bust. It would struggle to reach the cd compartment.

Question Hu850

Has anyone tried one of these on an HU850? I have, but although it plays, none of the 'CD select' buttons 1-6 on the HU work, and it will only play one folder, interested to hear if anyone else has tried it with an HU850?

I imagine its the same 10CD changer that you could plug into the HU650/850 seems odd it doesnt work, or is there a different CD changer for the various HU audio systems?

I'll shatter your dreams now, I tried with offers of $60 and $70 both declined, both with counter offers of $88.

Yea just had a counter offer of 90 dollars. I'm not budging too far off my original, can't justify that price for chinese electronics! In all fairness tho it seams a nice item being a lot cheaper than the USA alternative.

Just need to square up the hole in the bottom of the cubby hole and use non permanent adhesive instead of sticky pads. Cant see it when the lid is closed though!

When you have the cup holder out, it is easy to dremel the top small section out, and it will mount flush to that in the dash I think.

It is a job to be done on my list..
