its not the gearbox then, its something to do with the running of the engine. it lay even just be a vacuum hose split on it from the manifold. would you be able to get it up here in northumberland if i wanted to buy it?

But 260 miles in Snail Mode would Probably Kill the car all together. Thanks for your interest though. I will look into the Vacume hose from the Manifold. You may well be the saviour of my car if thats what the Problem is. Thanks again LMASON. |

I can`t comment as i don`t know all what you have done but there are a few simple earthing things to check as well. I would just go through the list. I read all your threads so know you had these codes. Code AT323 seems to be the bug bear as at the bottom of faults it says you will have a DTC error code which is what you have as well as the flashing light. I do hope it helps you?

Much appreciated mate. To be Totally honest with you, i dont have a clue what any of it means! I could take your info to my man at the Garage but god knows what he will charge me to look into the info you have sent. Now if it was in laymens terms i would give it a go myself, but i am a Simple Painter and Decorator with hardly any Mechanical know how. Even LMASONS suggestion about the Vac Hose has got me searching the Net for Pictures of location !! Looks like i choose the wrong Profession !! Now if anyone who lives Very close to Barnet North London wants to come along and be my Fairy godmother please feel free !! Just ****ed off that everything i have done has not resolved the problem..... Seems to be a never ending headache. Would be willing to do some decorating for help with sorting out my car. Cheeky i know, but skint i am.. Thanks again for your help 960kg |

it is definately something to do with the running of the engine.
its usually the simplest things are hardest to find. if you knew someone nearer to you, to do the work. id be handy but your too far away, cos i could do with my house decorationg which i hate, doing, lol. but i like fixing my volvos ! if the car isnt spitting and coffing when driving, i doubt itll be an electrical fault on the engine. so if it was mine, id be looking at fuel mixture; ie the barometer sensor (not a second hand one unless you know whos car its off and that was running fine) or the pcv system and vacuum pipes under the manifold. they split and perish after a while and cause running problems. thats where id be looking, and it isnt a great deal of money. but shame to scrap a good car if its only something simple which sounds to me like it is. |

Get the bloody codes read, man! It doesn't have to cost lots of money. Get the codes (the Pxxxx numbers) and report back. You can't blindly follow them, but without them you're throwing good money after bad on things that are probably not faulty.
There are many, many things which can throw the lights on, and you're working blind without knowing what is upsetting the ECU/TCU. Remember - codes are your friend, not your enemy, and you ignore them at your peril! cheers James

Will be out there in the Morning with my head under the bonnet looking and checking every hose i can see ! No coffing or spitting...Did fit a Barometer to the car as well as a ECU, but they came from a Reliable Source. As for the PCV system, where is that located and also the Vacume Hose you mention?? where do i need to be looking ? Left or right side of engine? Cheers once again for your help. |
