Having not spotted any for ages: white K reg Tors near Hartside Pass on Friday afternoon and red H reg Tors in Keswick on Saturday morning.

Like buses...

Passing through St. Austell at 6.30'ish yesterday morning and saw a flash of headlights and a cheery wave from the driver of a red 240 estate. Don't know if it's a local one but at that time of the morning unlikely to be anyone on holiday.

K reg Tors (I seem to be attracting them at the moment) heading up the spine road out of Newcastle at about 7 last night. Opened it up to catch up and overtake, gave a thumbs up and got a (possibly confused) smile from the driver :-)

Well would you believe it?!! I was walking home and stopped to chat to a neighbour who runs a B & B and just noticed that some German guests had arrived in an immaculate silver-grey GLT saloon.

Hello,
Finally! Spotted one after what seems like a long time. Blue, the darker metallic shade, 'H' plate saloon, looked to be in good shape, we were on opposite sides of the M77 so no chance for picture. Think it was a GL model.
Cheers

Strange to see two in two days but a red estate was just behind me on Friday afternoon for a few yards until I turned off, then yesterday in a country lane nearby we came almost face to face with another estate, in a very unusual bluish metallic colour. Thought at first, as we passed by quite quickly, that it was a 940 but I'm fairly sure it was a 240. It was the colour which was so noticeable, and the car looked very well cared-for too.

My first for a while: an F-plate silver 240GL estate parked on Liverpool's Grove Road this afternoon.

The red Tors I've seen in Warrington a few times is a local's and appears to have acquired some GLT trim bits...

A remote one, which I hope will count even though it's (probably) not a 240!

We have just been on holiday in Montenegro. Volvos are ultra rare there. After a week touring round, I had only seen about five Volvos in total, of any model, and zero rear-wheel-drive versions.

Then, at a super remote beach, accessible only by boat or several miles of narrow crumbling road/track, I was amazed to find this very nice big-bumper manual 264. (No badges, so it could possibly be a high specification or modified 244, but usually this grill plus chrome wheel-arch/door-handle trims would indicate a 6 cylinder).

It was a foreign visitor to Montenegro (Serbian registered), and on LPG, so obviously an owner making full use of his classic Volvo for touring abroad - I approve!

Default Serbian visitor a hybrid?

Looks like a tidy car, complete with body-coloured mirror housings. I think you're right about it being a 264, though it could be a 244GLE.

The taillights don't look right though for the front: I think they're from a later series car - the big bumper cars had 5-segment taillights with a vertical rear fog lamp in Europe or reversing lamp in the States rather than the 6-segment units.

I think the lights are correct. Unlike the 242/244, the 264 had 6-panel rear lights from the outset in 1975:

This continued when the wrap-around lights arrived in 1980 (when as you say the 240 used smaller 5 panel lamps).

Later on, lamps similar to the 264 were adopted for all 200 saloons.
