As per above photo , mines now driving the rear, with the new spline joint. Visisted a garage today and dropped front wheels onto their rollers (last week it wouldn't drive out) , now it drives straight back out without any drama.

guys please keep me informed of any watchdog or other media contact. My XC90 AWD 2005 has had so many issues that I am sick to even list them. Now at only 50,000 miles I have it sitting in Arnold Clark somewhere in Inverness with what sounds like the engine in bits and they still cannot advise me as to exactly what the issues are. In the two months it has been sitting there they have only had the courtesy to call me twice!! Shocking to say I paid over £44.000 pounds for the car I thought would last my lifetime. Read some of the US forums and see over and over threads relating to transmission problems. I know little about cars but I suspect that's the root cause of my vehicles constant problems ....Any thoughts or advice as to what action I might take would be hugely appreciated. At the end of my tether..

Hello gb1uk, it would be handy to tell us which model/engine/gearbox combo of XC90 you are talking about (there are lots,) otherwise your leaving us guessing.
But since you mention the US forums (not always relevant to European cars) I assume its a T6 ?

Vibration when braking could be as simple as the tracking is out, or maybe some worn bushes on the lower arm. I don't know for XC90s but the lower arm bushes are a known wear and tear item for s60s.

Sorry, just reread your post, were you told they needed to be replaced because they were warped? When you say look new have you actually checked the thickness of the discs/pads?

Warranty is warranty... you won't get an answer unless you speak with them

Only reasons disks would warp would be if a calliper had seized previously, or they are new disks and were not run in properly causing localised overheating I think. Takes more than hot weather to warp cast iron or the disks were faulty in the first place.
