it shows all cities for a slit second then goes blank for you to type in a city

the only way i can get it to show all cities is i leave the country part blank if that makes sense ? might it be worth poss reset to factory settings ?

OK, I bit the expensive DVD upgrade bullet ( over £200 ) and got the full postcode search function,
which I was originally quite pleased with, but what follows is a little tale of woe that the "Upgrade" has given me :

The first time I used it for directions to somewhere I hadn't been before, was on New Years Eve.

Mr. & Mrs. Coconut were off to The Olde Barn Hotel, Toll Bar Road, Marston NG32 2HT
( which we would recommend ) for a nice quiet dinner, followed by a few festivities.

I entered the post code, and it gave me a choice of two roads in that post code area -
one of which was Toll Bar Road, so I seletced that, and off we went.

We arrived an hour later in a Cul-de-sac called Toll Bar Road - in the middle of Grantham,
( which I later learnt has a Post Code of NG31 9EN ).
There was no trace of the Olde Barn hotel, because we were still about
a 15 mile drive away from where we actually wanted to go to.

Not wishing to impose on the residents of this quiet little road
to see if they fancied a couple of uninvited extra guests for the night,
we managed to find a phone number for the hotel - who kindly gave us the correct directions,
and we got there just in time for dinner, albeit a bit stressed out,
not to say annoyed at the "Upgraded" Sat Nav taking us to the wrong place.

So the question is this : First of all how do I report the error ( and any others I might find, and who to ?? -
Volvo Customer Services ?? - Wil they do anything with the Info ??
or Navtech ( who I am led to believe prepare the mapping data for Volvo ) ??

Also, I am worried that there may be lots more similar errors and am already wondering
if it will be possible to "Downgrade" back down to the orginal version,
and return the DVD for a refund, if I decide that the "Upgrade" I purchased is not "Fit for Purpose" ??

Irrelevant isn't it? If Toll Bar Road has been selected AFTER input of a valid postcode then surely it should be THE Toll Bar Rd at said postcode?

Maybe, I'm just trying to understand what might have gone wrong.

OK, I took another look at it this morning....

Entering the Post Code NG32 2HT ( verified as the correct post code for the hotel ),
the database finds just two roads listed as :
"BAR ROAD, TOLL", and,
"TOLL BAR ROAD"

The first entry also appears to be an error with the road name listed incorrectly.

The second entry appears to be the road I wanted - note the SPACE betwen "TOLL" and "BAR"

However, selecting the second entry "TOLL BAR ROAD",
then provides directions to Toll Bar Road, off Cold Harbour Lane, Grantham,
where the correct Postcode ( sourced from Royal Mail Web Site ) is NG31 9EN,
and not the NG32 2HT I had searched under :

The Tollbar Road I wanted CAN be found on the map by searching for Tollbar Road,
instead of using the Post Code search,
and selecting the one that comes up in the list as "Grantham"
( Note there is no SPACE in "Tollbar" in the directory entry,
although the actual road name does include the space ).
It then indicates on the map as Tollbar Road, Marston, Grantham.

And just out of curiosity if I enter the correct post code ( NG31 9EN) which covers the Toll Bar Road I did NOT want to go to,
that road is also listed in the database correctly under that post code.

It would appear there is a database compilation error where the same road ( the one I didn't want want )
has been listed at two Post Code locations, and spelt slightly differently ( space ) just to add to rthe confusion,
while the road I did want has not been listed in the Post Code area.

What a fantastic investment of over £200 !

Makes me wonder what other errors there are with more popular road names
that might appear more than twice in a town, such as Church Road, Green Lane etc etc .

So, who to report it to ??

Thanks Clan,

Have been to that page before and hadn't noticed the Map Reporter link at the bottom of the page.

( I was saving my £5.00 for the VAT Man tomorrow ! )

Errors now reported :-)
