Dover to Cornwall is a journey very few if any politician of influence would take on a regular basis. If it was it would be a super highway.

Perhaps if Parliament is temporarily located in Cornwall while the Palace of Westminster is being refurbed/rebuilt we would get some decent roads.

I find the greatest thing about driving in Europe is people actually move over once they've finished overtaking. It's all 'fast lane' and 'slow lane' nonsense here.

Maybe because they have big posters along the autobahns with the cars in the overtaking lane and no one in the 1st lane with a sign underneath asking "Wo Sind Sie?", where are you?, they have them in The Netherlands to but in Dutch.

A favourite game of mine is to play "donuts" with these morons.
Overtake in lane 3, pull across safely to lane 1, ease off and let them pass. Accelerate and move over into lane 3 and repeat.

My PB is 12 circuits around a bint in an Astra on the M27 westbound last week on a completely empty motorway - all the way from J11 to J8 - until she realised what a moron she was being... (Not to mention the Sat Nav stuck right in her eyeline above the steering wheel on full brightness)

Except tea, tea is awesome!
Ahhh but which tea?? There's some crap tea out there I tell ya, Laura swears by her Yorkshire Tea but I think that's because she's from Leeds. It makes a good panad though (even after all these years she still calls it a brew!!) but I'm a fan of Twinings English Breakfast Tea or their Earl Grey.

I'm a coffee person though, when I was full time teaching I had my own pot of nasty chickpea health coffee I nabbed from a happy clappy vegan mate of mine in the staffroom and filled it with my favourite instant coffee Douwe Egberts Pure Gold so nobody would nick it. Worked too!!

Re MPG. It's a priority to me as is good driving etiquette hence my decision to buy a DRIVe Volvo. I'm seriously considering doing an IAM course as they look very interesting. I love it when I get good MPG and I leave the trip computers on MPG when I'm driving the cars. I like to cruise at 56-60 MPH on motorways and trunk roads and I like to avoid unnecessary acceleration and braking. I used to get 58 MPG from my 2.0D S40 and I hope to beat that if I come home in the V50 tomorrow

I do love Earl Grey tea! Generally I drink tetley tea but I was recently given some peppermint and nettle tea in unbleached tea bags (who knew tea bags were bleached white?) and it's interesting!

I applaud your Tea dedication.... After working for Kenco for 7yrs, if I never see another cup of coffee it won't be too soon. Coffee is only consumed when either no tea or rubbish tea is available. Yorkshire tea is nice but I'm partial to Cardamom tea too.... Nice

Re MPG, my 50 isn't great on fuel to be honest but if I keep it to 65 I can maintain 51mpg. If I refit my EGR blanking plate I can get 56mpg, wished I knew where I'd put it though. My 50 gives 43mpg overall which is respectable for the cars age, I've no issue with it

TT
