Thanks a lot fella, got more done today

Iron-X again

And another application of AF Imperial via the pump sprayer

And after a wipe down with Tar-X, another rinse, dry, polish and wipe down with eraser to prepare the surface I coated with Gyeon Q2 RIM and layered with GTechniq C2V3

And after 3 coats of CarPro PERL force dryer with the hair dryer we have the drivers side done

And a quick before and after of the passenger side and we are all done!

Tomorrow I might get chance to wash it and begin the decontamination process. Once that's done it'll be 2 stages of polishing as the paintwork is sound then touch ups and ceramic coating. That's not to mention the rather disgusting interior! It never ends!!!

You never know, you might even get to drive it soon...

I wish I had the time to spend doing this kind of thing. I've done well over 1000 miles since collection last Friday now with various work & family commitments, the engine has barely gone cold!

Interesting about the injector cleaner, I always thought that was a misnomer. Does it really actually make a difference and if so, how do you know if your injectors will benefit? I tried it on my Fabia Vrs once with around 105k on the clock but noticed no difference to be honest.

Haha, I've also done nearly 800 miles in it since collection but in the last few days I've been slowing down to get it done! I want to give the car some thorough protection and then it'll be easy to maintain

Re injector cleaner, yes I always pour a bottle in when I change a fuel filter as it is no longer diluted with a tank of diesel so it does actually clean. I was thought this trick by a respected Alfa Romeo tuner who has done a lot of work on my Dad's 159 and if your injectors are dirty or slow to respond this is worth a go but the only real way to clean them is to take them out and have them invasively cleaned by a specialist. In this instance I would say I have noticed a difference to the D5 though it didn't affect my previous S40 2.0D when I did that. I only use Wynn's though as it's the only one I find that works

Its good to see your work as it progresses especially the detailed photos. I wondered if you had any problem when undoing the diesel fuel filter. I will be looking to remove my fuel filter in the near future but when I tried to undo it a while back it seemed rather tight and being plastic ( I think ) I had a fear it might break. Thanks for any advice.

Cheers Laney, it's finally getting there but I've been scuppered by rain today. I got a little bit done; braved the rain and washed the car with Britemax clean max and 2 buckets then coated the lower half of the car with Tar-X

Once the car was washed, I rinsed with an open hose to sheet off the water then pat dryed with a microfibre towel.

Once that was done it was time for the Tar-X to dissolve the copious tar spotting

Now the rain really started, so I only had chance to get the passenger seat cleaned with Gliptone liquid leather then sealed with GTechniq L1

That's all we have for today but the passenger seat is now lovely and matt but the light is no good to show you. Hopefully complete the car tomorrow!

Thanks, the filter bowl was on very tight on my car too, but it wasn't too hard as long as you have a 32mm ring spanner, an open ended one wouldn't give me the grip on the nut! It's a messy job as the diesel spills over the anti roll bar so have a large container for it! Other than that it is straightforward
