Does seem to be a bit of a paradox..brought about perhaps because of the need to reduce fil levels to leave room for fuel to be added to the sump during regeneration. Not a well engineered solution to my simple mind...

I’m just sticking to the level on the dipstick & not bothering with VIDA. I trust the physical dipsticks, not the electronic gubbins. I know the car isn’t overfilled with oil… there’s exactly 5.8L in it.

I used VIDA on the last oil change & when the car was above 60 degrees, it said the oil level was bang on 70%. I checked the dipstick after the engine was turned off for 15 mins or so & it was two x’s above minimum… that’s lower than it should be. So 70% on VIDA isn’t 3/4 on the dipstick.
