I know the cars use the old chips and that was an issue as tech moves on and although a car might only need a chip designed for a 2003 mobile phone someone still has to produce them cheap when they could be producing say iPhone chips at a much better margin.
I just found the flashdrive rack being empty a bit strange and they've not held any worth buying for some time, not had much luck with Sandisk myself although they do do reasonable write speeds, Kingston are abysmal for write rates but cheap enough to use as readable storage where the wait is only one time while it writes, I know I've had Sony and Adata usb 2 drives that kick the backside out of a supposed usb 3.1 from Kingston. I digressed again |

There's also no £5Bn hole in the spreadsheet. The mythical £56Bn "black hole" is a total fabrication, designed to make it look like the government are actually doing something. Where did this "black hole" come from? None of Truss/Kwarteng's policies made it off the drawing board. If it existed prior to that hapless pair of twits, auld dishy seemed to have forgotten about it during his campaign speeches.

We are all entitled to do as we wish and go where we wish but I find the stance of 'I won't go there and they lose my money' a little odd.
I appreciate that paying a charge or having to use alternative transport may irritate some but to say in a blanket fashion that you won't go there and 'they' lose your money doesn't really get to the people imposing the charge, the charges are imposed partly to help environmental considerations, and your not taking a car into the city helps reduce congestion and pollution, hence 'their' charges are justified as they have achieved the stated environmental goal. So which 'they' is it that suffers? That would be the business that you may have supported in the city, the same business paying high rents and rates, the one where the business owner is having to update his vehicles and pay the charges in order to get to work, and do you think the politicians will waste a moment to care that those businesses have collapsed because you didn't support them? I live within easy driving distance of London with its Congestion charge and Low Emissions Zones, and to be honest I haven't driven anywhere inside the north/south circular in my car* for many many years, but that's not because of the charges it's more about the congestion on the roads and the lack of and price of parking, I find from Milton keynes a fast off peak train is a much preferable way to travel, similarly if I visit Oxford the park and ride from just off of the main approach roads means I can park and relax not fret about which way to go and where to park. *I have spent 36 years as an HGV driver which means I have taken an articulated truck into and through central London (and many other cities) on many occasions, and that's a whole different level of problems .
