Default Charging systems

Hey Bernard333

Perhaps look for manufacture specific manuals. I found this one on Chapters/Indigo:

Bosch Technical Instruction: Alternators

Author: Robert Bosch

Default Update!!

Hi folks,

We picked up the car yesterday. The alternator was replaced. Everything looks good! I checked the voltage this morning - and we're looking good!

The mechanic also mentioned that he contacted VOLVO Canada - and they also believed the issue was related to the alternator.

Thank you all for your wisdom and help. It has been very much appreciated.

All said and told:
460$ CAN (265$ GBP) for the alternator
450$ for labor (trouble shooting and install).

Cheer!
Angelo

Had to replace original 800Ah battery when it gave up the ghost during the cold winter. Replaced with a 680 which although under-spec worked ok. Now it appears a current drain is behind the problem. After sleep mode has kicked in the ammeter (on 10A reading) showed 1.03 0.94 1.03 0.94 etc etc. Read a few threads and removed siren 5A fuse from fuse box in cabin. Draw fell to a steady 0.84A. Still no nearer finding the culprit. How do I keep the car in quiet mode whilst pulling the rest of the fuses (open the driver door and amp reading jumps to 4+)
