Possibly a silly question but is the Ace Cafe within the congestion tax zone? I havent been to London for a few years!

Nope, fortunately it's well outside The zone doesn't operate at weekends either - details here:

Alec, I hope you bring the 740 to the Ace, would love to see it, especially with that exhaust! My 740 2.0 petrol auto was like a slug and the suspension was totally shot but I still look out for her (she was stolen), she was my first 'brick', I loved her looks. She was a beautiful silver-green metallic, my 940 is just a boring ordinary silver. My Dad can't understand how I prefer the 'retro' front/lights of the 740 to the 940 but I do (but the 240 front is my least favourite). Would love a 740 D24tic in the silver-green metallic (without a blown head gasket, lol), that would be my dream car!

My 940 looks pretty chavvish when I have the full aluminium roof rack with the rusted clamps/bolts on her and not the roof bars, it completely changes her looks from classy Volvo to decorator's van. I live in a very posh village full of millionaires and often hear them mutter 'Why DOES she have to have that roofrack on it?'! (secretly, to annoy them, lol...)

Hi Chaps,

Am along the M11 myself so might be able to join the convoy (day-pass application permitting). I also happen to know the way to the Ace, as I've been there loads of times on my bike. If you fancy taking the short diversion off J7 (A414 - Harlow) I could meet you in McD's car park.

All I have to do now is hope my V50 is ready by then, otherwise it'll be a silver SEAT Toledo.
