I only ask as I am interested but are they changing the complete seat assembly or just the covers? I'd imagine either will be a pain but just wondering what approach they are taking.

I'd imagine it will be just the 'covers' but interested to see how they rectify the issue.

I bet there has been much cursing behind the scenes especially if the dealer is covering the cost!! Somebody will have had their backside kicked....

They have another car on order with the required seats, they are going to swap the lot over. I'd expect this to be a much cheaper option with the only real cost being labour.

My first job after graduating was working for Land Rover in London in the late 90's. It was common practice on the Range Rover to do a trim swap on new cars to achieve the right colour combination if lead times were lengthy. It was a nightmare headlining, door cards, dash, console, carpets, seats etc and when you consider how poorly they were made, after the swap goodness knows what the final long term consequences were....
I suspect your swap maybe somewhat more straightforward.

I guess that makes sense but what is the lead time for the other car and aren't they just going to end up in the same situation i.e. an R-Design LUX with a Nubuck interior?

I suppose the difference will be that they can price it / sell with the spec reflecting what is actually fitted?! Additionally you will have the car for a while and whilst it won't see any damage or heavy wear it will still be 'used'.

I wouldn't be happy if I were buying the other car, maybe they are putting it in to stock as a demonstrator?

will still be fun when they come to sell the other car regardless of age, if someone checks the Volvo systems they'll see the car listed with full leather and find it doesnt

Unless they also change the build spec against the VIN, which is hardly rocket science

Hello,
If anyone has this D4 181hp 4 cylinder VEA (the new egine for MY14.5)please share some reviews.
Any problems? How's the performance?
I was about to get a XC60 D4 but no one ever test that engine so I waited a little bit until it gets some reviews.
Thanks

Don't think there are any in UK yet (not that I know of) but here's a review posted by a forum member in answer to my same question.

I'm sure more reviews will surface in time once the car arrives in greater numbers.

I have a question that hopefully someone can answer? One of my colleagues has the 2013 s60 D5 all singing all dancing, but one thing he says he can't do is answer his phone via the steering wheel and he has to push ok on the centre console is this correct??

The reason i ask is i am waiting on my new XC60 R-Design MY 14.5 (delivery March) and wondered if that would be the same , if so that will be a pain in the arse!!
