Looks like I am going to need to do some work finding the best deal.

Mine increased 33% with Morethan so I changed to Churchill after getting an online quote and although its higher than last year only slightly,

Try NFU. I have always found them to be very competitive. Mine rose less than 5% from last year.

Mine is with Churchill and I have even added front and rear dashcams. They should be giving a discount for that but apparently not. Car & Buildings Insurance Companies need to be regulated.

Same percentage increase as me then. Haven't spoken to them (Direct Line) yet but I did an online quote with them and it was nearly double what I paid last time.

Direct Line own Churchill. To be fair I had a great deal originally, I wonder if they realised it was too cheap. They will not offer any discount unless you have Home Insurance with them and then it is 10%. They suggested I get a quote on their site and if it was cheaper they would match it but not match any other companies. The guy I spoke to had very little to work on with discounts and I believe him as I think he would have liked to have improved the quote. When I said I have got one of the safest cars on the road, he said "I know my father has got the XC90 T8"

My current insurance was a great price too. Car insurance generally has increased by ~20% so I'm curious as to why ours has gone up ~40%. Perhaps XC90s are having more accidents or are proving more costly to repair than was originally anticipated.

Could be. I have tried Churchill own site for a quote and it has come up £200 more expensive, strange.
Tried comparison site and best quote cannot beat Churchill. I will give NFU a go (not open until Tues), but looks like I could well be accepting what I have currently even with the 42% increase.

Direct Line wouldnt insure my 21 year old when I polestared the Volvo to 200hp, despite already insuring him on his own BMW with 321hp. Cost us the grand total of £196 extra to change to an Audi RS6 with 572hp (non modified!). Not allowed to speak to underwriters in their Ivory towers ... Go Figure!
