How do you access the fault codes? I suppose you need diagnostic equipment for that? My garage, you must know it Dave, in Rogart, has just serviced and tried to MOT the car and we are hoping that by fitting the new cat and lambda sensor it should be sorted and the MOT certificate can be issued.

If you look in the "200 series articles" section of this forum there is a very informative article by Wooble on how to read and interpret fault codes on 1990-93 models. Hope this helps.

Finally passed.....
Garage phoned this evening to say that my Volvo has now passed its emissions test after fitting a new cat and lambda sensor and all readings are well within the designated tolerances. OK I will have the added expense of these items but nothing else was needed for the test so I am happy and have another year of Volvo 240 motoring.
My thanks to all the forum members who responded with suggestions and ideas....... |
