[QUOTE=Pigeon;170151]LPG? Now there's a useful thought...

Only thing that bugs me a bit about the idea is where to put the LPG tank. It's a big heavy thing so needs to be mounted low down but I'm not keen on removing the original petrol tank, and of course the "doughnuts" won't do for a 164... where did you put yours?

why couldnt you use a doughnut? as far as i recall my 144s had 2 spare wheel wells in the back, can you get a doughnut to stand upright in the second one?

Default Volvo 164 register

The most complete list of 164:s is available here:
http://www.164club.org/list/index.html

The early models had the covers instead of fog lights, as well as all cars sold to the US (since the fog lights weren't approved there). I think I have a couple of covers somewhere, so if you're interested, drop me line. They are not mint, nor expensive.

I've got 2 spare wheels in my spare wheel wells

Might whip up the rear seat squab and have a look under there... most cars there's a cavity of greater or lesser size under there with nothing in it... if it's big enough it just needs a breather hole in the bottom so any leakage can't accumulate and there we go.

Just last Sat I managed to get replacements for dist. cap, rotor arm, points and oil light switch from my local motor factors. they are all new from the general parts suppliers like quinton hazel or uniparts. I just don't have the numbers to hand but when I get them I'll post them up (price for the above was €30).

I couldn't get a replacement for the temp sender in the head or a condenser.

Oh yeah, I found an old intermotor catalogue here from the early 80's and it has intermotor number listed for a good number of parts. If anyone is looking for such a number, let me know and I'll look it up (having an intermotor PN would make searching for a new part at motor factors very easy).

Nordicar in Holland is a great source for 164 parts. They list the foglight louvres, though without a price. For this you should contact them, they speak English. You find them at page 4.
http://www.nordicar.com/ukindex.html
The 164 foglights (part#281350) are listed by the Dutch Volvo club V44 for €130 (without 19% VAT.) But you need to be a member.

Default 164 spots etc

bummer I replied then lost the post ??
Well here we go again
Pics of spots
Tip no 1
245 girling vented disks can be opened out to fit [ non vented should be same]
the casting is the some just need to open out bolt holes.
Alternator Some 245 etc just need to open out lower fixing hole and fit have now been using for about 10 years or so
no more ATE
no more alternator hunting
Remember that it is not now an exchange item but the front fixing can be changed over
