The insurance premium increase was about 30 quid, the PPC RICA re map was less than 500 quid. RT mechanics is in Liphook just south of Guildford off the A3.

Hi, that's a very good insurance increase for a remap modification - which insurance company do you use?

I though stage 1 was the ecu upgrade. stage 2 was 1 + exhaust and stage 3 was upgraded internals, turbo etc. Please correct me if I have thought wrong all these years. The unit itself is exactly the same. (In fact the RICA ones have BSR written on them) Just the software inside is differnt. (BTW I have a BSR ppc from a saab 95 i used to have if someone needs a paperweight :-)

Thanks for the info. Every days a school day. :-)
Your going to have one quick machine once its on. 319 / 427 isnt too shabby at all. (I do find it strange though that if your spending that much money they dont throw in an air filter as well the tight wads) If I was you I would buy my shares in Goodyear now lol. Let us know what its like once all done.

Quick note for PPC users : a new map for sportune is available, I downloaded it 15/3; although it's for a diesel, might be worth all users checking for updates

The filter is thrown in 'the uk dealer is Nordic and I wasnt going to get the exhaust but after seeing how bad mine was I thought i might as well get a good one before it falls apart on me and I guess the exhaust for A t5
wont be that far off from the dealers anyhow. |

So let me get a few things straight on this.
How does the unit find/get the updates, do you plug it into your pc, if so how? If a pc is needed for this unit does it work with Vista? I ask this because last time I wanted a remap via post I had to have XP and not vista, a slight problem as none of my PC's have XP anymore, so that put an end to that. How much are they for a 2003 S60 T5? Who sells them on here (PM me if need be if a seller reads this)? |
