Uniroyal Rainsport 5s are quiet and are very good value.

We fitted crossclimate SUV to our hyundai Santa Fe..very quiet and all round grip is excellent. When our XC90 requires tyres there'll be top of the list. Currently 15% off these with tyres on the drive mobile fitting (no affiliation)

In 2027 when you hit 46000 miles give a set of Hankook's a go.

XC90 tyres marked VOL are special versions with a foam lining inside to reduce noise.

Hmmm - not sure what that says about Volvo refinement requiring these tricks. I must say road noise isolation from any Range Rover I've ever had is far, far superior. I've always run AT tyres on my Range Rovers which all had far less tyre roar than my XC90 on road tyres.

Much more expensive car possibly with double glazing?

What always suprises me with the XC90 is how light it is so perhaps it has less sound deadening material also?

Double glazing won't affect tyre roar. Bump-thump and tyre roar is far worse than any Range Rover I've had that goes back to the original, the P38 - the L322 and the L405. The classic and P38 Ranger Rover (in real terms) was a cheaper car than my XC90. Okay L322 onwards the prices have pulled away from the competition - I guess that was the job of the Disco and Evoke to create a bigger price spread. The P-38 and classic are lighter than my twin engine XC90 with significantly less bump-thump despite being relatively primitive live-axle vehicles.

I suppose I should chip in with my current hoops. Continental CrossContact LX Sport all-season tyres. 245/45x20.
Dry: good.
Wet: Good enough.
Noise: Terrible.
Comfort: Jittery.
Wear: Average.

Would I buy again? No. All-season tyres tend to be compliant and comfortable - these are definitely not.

any recommendations for 275/35-22's?
Currently I have the stock Pirelli Scorpion on, which are becoming a bit noisy.
Grip and low sound are important.

You don't get a whole heap of choice in your size! if you like a sticky tyre with low noise the Goodyear Eagle F1 will tick your boxes. Not a tyre I'd like to drive on snow though!
