unplug it, and its hlp in by one torx head screw,,,job done.
itll take appprox 2 minutes maybe less. but to buy a new one approx £100, if you know someone with the same sensor from a car which hasnt got problems, borrow theirs for a while when the engine management light goes on. then change it.. dont bother having the engine management light reste, just drive the car and it should go out itself then you know what the problem is. |

The thing with the engine having to be in good tune is also correct as my 960 was not changing gear very well and was quite jerky, it was due for the engine service which i thoroughly did and it sounded spot on afterwards and to my amazement when driven all the downshifting jerks had gone and the changes were back to smoothness. The gear changes also shifted position according to revs. Yes, i know it all sounds crap but when your in the seat driving and you know what your car does day in day out then anychange you notice straight away. That`s why i will always rather service the engine than change the ATF!

Lmason, i appreciate your help here mate, but having so many Theorys thrown in my direction does get a bit confusing for a non Mechanical minded bloke like myself.
Seen the Sensor you mentioned, and will be Trying to get my hands on one soon...First i will try the ECU, Just been out to clean underneath the handbrake where i managed to give the S E W buttons a good clean. Was picturing your Mutt Carrier as i was cleaning away...Caked in Dog hairs and dog Flob from where the old girl i bought it from carried her Doggies all over the country !!!!!! Only messing mate......! Thanks again for your help, will get a Sensor and see if your Theory is correct. !! |

re ecu.
your wasiting your money getting an ecu. also, if you get the sensor, dont bother with a second hand one. its best to get a new one. also best to get genuine volvo one from rufe, rather than a pattern one. ive had a non genuine one before and it didnt fix the problem |
