You are having your first child, which will be expensive enough, so don't waste your money on changing cars yet. When you get two kids it can be more of a challenge but I'm pretty sure your current car will be perfectly fine for most of your needs with a small baby.

If you used this dealer last time you want to know why you are in negative equity, you may be easy prey for an xmas bonus now that all the new 65 plate gravy train business is out of the way.
I pay a little extra every month than you have been quoted for my fully specced lux below as I pushed the dealer to match drive the deal quotes and saved 8k, I financed the lot with just a £500 deposit.. Yes I may be in negative equity slightly but that was my choice. |

We have two kids in a Honda Jazz and have to use a roof box even for a weekend trip! Plus can't fit a double buggy in the boot so have to attach the car seat to the pram along with a toddler seat as the elder one still needs a buggy. We've an XC60 on order. We've to take both wheels off our (small) pram base and I can't quite believe we'll have this much space!
Anyway, we coped fine in the Jazz with just one. Trying to work out if we've future proofed enough buying a XC60 in case we have 3... But for now I'm excited about all that space! |

The only problem with 3 is if they are all still in some form of car seat. The rear of an XC60 can't take three car seats. If one is out of a special seat then they can sit, uncomfortably, squashed in the middle and you will be okay.

So the logic is this. If Volvogirl84 is going to have three children, she needs to 'plan' so the oldest will be just the right age to sit in the middle seat between the two child seats. Not my idea of fun however. Might have been worth looking at one of the 7-seat options, or stick with 2 children. The third child could become a very expensive addition.

That 3-seat dilemma was responsible for our period of MPV ownership and the follow-up Freelander2. Thankfully we are now at the point where we can choose based on no child seats at all (and one less child to worry about outside university holidays...)

If there are five or more an MPV really is the most comfortable solution for everyone. The flat floor and individual seats really can't be matched by any other type of vehicle.

Hi guys just wanna say a big thank you, I had a test drive today of the xc90 really nice drive. However the spec of the rdesign they were trying to sell me was real poor, every time I asked a question about spec i was more and more disappointed it didn't having parking sensors, no electric boot small 5inch screen not electric folding mirror no leather interior no tarxenon headlights.
So I have decided to keep my v40 which has all these and more. Salesman was a bit shocked when a said the spec was poor and a wasn't interested. There was one of them awkward silences then a just had to laugh and a left. Looks like polestar for me. Yippee......... |

Back to the last post, you did well to walk away. If it's not right then you would be spending a lot only to be disappointed.
