Default RE: S60 2.5T

Just to add my comment to the thread, as you can see by my signature, I have upgraded my V70 2.4T SE using the BSR PPC method.

I travel to Sweden at least once a month, so I purchased mine directly from the parent company rather than in the UK, and it is absolutely stonking.

With massive low and mid range torque, the car accelerates like there's no tomorrow, and feels super smooth and totally effortless in the process. Just ride the torque like a modern turbo diesel, but without the sudden death power drop off at each end of the rev range. If you want to hang out and rev it, fine, no problem. Absolutely magic.

In like-for-like driving, with routes I have used for yonks, average fuel concumption has improved by about one and a half MPG. Essentially town work burns a little more, as does very illegally fast cruising, but A road work and legal motorway crusing is where the gains are.

Downsides? Only two. Using the PLUS button on the cruise control is now very binary, with a noticeable kick for each push. The downside of plenty of torque, I guess. Also, despite torque being electronically governed in first gear, the standard fit P6000 tyres really struggle to contain full bore getaways. Solution is to short shift in to second soon after the car is rolling and then nail the throttle. An invisible hand then picks the car up from not even 2000RPM, and hurls it forwards. Ask the Boxter driver I met at Wendlebury a few days ago! ;-)
