Perhaps SE model orders are easier to fulfil?
Marshalls Cambridge....Barry Wilson (salesman), Andrew Short (sales manager).
excellent service. Great pre-sales service - I wanted a long, unaccompanied test drive in specific spec, and they arranged it without a quibble. here's the keys, see you later.
Good price, easy negotiation, realistic PX and not at all pushy on add-ons, but clearly explained differences between their packs and others online.
Got the car nice and quick, excellent handover - eveerything you could wish for.
would recommend unreservedly.

Just to let you know Mercedes are paying any extra VED costs over the next 5 years on any delayed production.....May be Volvo ought to do the same..

To add to the above. Generally there is no rhyme nor reason behind why certain vehicles are built ahead of others. Sometimes certain options change the build slot depending on availability of parts I assume.. (?).

As dealers we do have the option of requesting delivery dates on vehicles but generally they come when they come. If we held back one vehicle it wouldn't necessarily mean that another of ours would fall into its slot... more likely that another dealers vehicle would, so isn't common practice, not here at least anyway.

All the best, and hope you enjoy your vehicle when it arrives.
Thanks for your thoughts. I'm still a little bemused by it all though. When I ordered and my dealer sent the factory order off, I was given a date for 13th March and she was fairly confident about it. Two weeks later this had slipped to April 13th. Now it appears to be June. Exactly who therefore got the March 13th slot ahead of me and why have I been pushed all the way back?

Can a dealer or perhaps Volvo itself choose which cars to prioritise? Would a cash buyer be prioritised over pcp/pcp customer? Thanks for your input

Fantastic news! Does it sound good? Looks like you have a great spec on your car too, well chosen. Please give us an update after you've played with it all...

When did you say you ordered the car? Think I might give Marshalls a call.

From what you have said I think it's a case of someone reading the system wrong in the first place as a delay of that much sounds very unusual to me. Once we have a delivery date they are usually fairly accurate to within a week or so.....

With regards to priority depending on the purchase route I can't imagine this would be the case as there is little financial difference to the dealer, and none to volvo UK on how the vehicle is funded. ...

Really, that's really good to know thanks. How did you find this out? Are they going to refund the VED or take it off the new car price? Is this for all customers or pch only?

I had already seen this on the previrus post. Is very peculiar why it has gone out so far from the original planned delivery date. Yes, we did have a large amount of xc60 orders in January which affected it to some extent, but not too badly..... I am stumped to be honest.....
