I have just been told that £175 is for labour. Doing the sums:

£175 Labour
£180 Garmin 765t
£560 Other
£915

Where other is seperate GPS, new Black Hole cover with docking station + some wiring. Oh, and a boat load of profit.

Need to check out the Halfords solution.

If you look at my earlier post on this thread you can actually see the work they will do - it is the installation instructions

Default navigation

HI all, looking at this thread I am sure I can help out, I have had lots of experiance with these types of things, I designed and supplied the RSE system to Volvo UK for the XC90 and have supplied lots of other systems to manufacturers, such as a navigation conversion dash boards to the Aston Martin factory for the DB7 and Vanquish. I would be happy to manufacture a housing to fit a portable nav system that wold look identical to the Volvo option dash, if there was enough interest. if the people who are interested PM me then I can work out if it is finacially viable for me, also let me know your prefered portable nav system and I will try and accomodate for this. looking forward to hearing from you.

Default Latest new from my local dealer

Update below from another dealer in my area. Much cheaper solution.

I have attached a link to the 760 version which is the cheaper of the two systems at £499.00.

http://vccs.volvocars.se/accessories...VCC-404174.htm

The 765 is priced at £638.75

The differences seem to me to be that the 765 is not a 'world' edition, whereas the 760 according to the spec is!?
Both of these are on 3 day back order currently, please Let me know your thoughts

Is the higher price the one that includes the traffic updates ? - - either way it might be cheaper to look at buying the sat nav elsewhere and the mount / cables from Volvo.

Pixmania have the 765T for £170 ...

Alternatively - take a look here - $422 for the same volvo kit ....

Most of those links show a left hand install. Now I'm assuming there is also a right hand drive install given you guys are in the U.K. The right hand drive install would also be suitable for Oz.

I can't see what is handed about the install plate - the writeup on swedespeed

http://forums.swedespeed.com/zerothread?id=97288

using instructions on volvo website show a template that appears to offer left hand drive (so I assume there would be a right hand drive template to follow ) but the actual mount doesn't look to be handed at all.

Whether it's a lefthand or right hand install depends on how integrated you want the installation to be. An install which is close to the OEM will require a proper Volvo fascia which I guess comes in left or right (note pic below).

In OZ, apparently there are a number of options being trialled by Volvo dealers for aftermarket installation on the XC60.

First is the aftermarket Garmen with a facia to make it look integrated. The second which is currently being tested is this one:

You can get a pro clip and a tomtom fixed mount which should mount a tomtom live in the car.

can anyone say whether a tomtom live (the new shapes) would fit in that hole? Might have to take mine along to the dealer tomorrow to check.

You could either screw straight into the plastic back plate (and potentially order a new one as a replacement, if you ever wanted to take it out), OR get the proclip that fits on the XC60 in the centre section

is that a sensible solution?
