The connected safety is warning other Volvos and their drivers that the road is slippery at this point, to allow you to not make the same mistake as the previous car which required the intervention of the traction / stability control.

Similarly, if a Volvo is in an incident or accident which results in Emergency hazard lights activating, connected vehicles are informed when approaching the area.

A useful function that is not adequately explained during handover on many occasions.
I'm fully aware of the various warnings. The point I was making was that I've never had ANY CONNECTED warnings appear either with my present car (2 years) or the previous one (3 years). Yes, one could say that I (and others) have been fortunate that emergency situations have not occurred. However, I have driven past a number of newish Volvos that had their hazards flashing without any reaction.
Has anyone in the UK had a warning from this system?

Presumably it's only if the hazards are activated automatically as a result of an accident rather than being switched on manually.

Yes, in fact I had one last night warning of standing water on the M90.

I have wondered that myself as I must admit I do the "van driver thank you" with a quick flash of the hazards on the motorway when someone lets me out.
