I ustilised the bolt on the floor which pins the seats - uses a heavy ratchet and put a copper ring under it and tightened...

Lower the seats and its that masive 2cm bolt....

I actually ended up earthing it up near the seat belt retracter. there was a torx screw going straight into the body work. Its worked a treat and everything is better positioned now.

The next job is to mount that amp someplace. I think it might be a matter of screwing to the back of the sub at this rate as I'm really struggling for a quick fix to get it secured properly.

I've just been to Fosse Park up the M1 and the amps moved all over the place lol.

Locate on back of 60(of 60/40 seats) and use bana plugs for the sub in case of it moves loose - knew that seatbelt in the boot would be useful for something !!

So here's the finished product. I drilled through the back of the seat and mounted the amp. Due to its size and the arrangement of the seats It's had to go slightly behind the sub but thats OK. This was never meant to be a flashy install. Its just meant to do the job and leave me with some boot space hehe.

I know the earth cable is looking dodgy but I'm going to undo it and earth it on the opposite side 2morrow so that the cable is hidden behind the sub.

Anyways, I just wanted to say thanks to everyone who chipped in with some advice as I was really struggling at the start. At least its all done now and I can enjoy my tunes!!!!

Glad it all went in ok - looks good.

Have you strapped that wee beastie down ? if not try locating in the left space behind the brake lights....allows you to use boot belt for something other than shopping....

No it's not fixed into place. I might try what you said. moving it to the left in and strapping it back. Sounds like a good idea and it would free up more of the boot.

Just depends how well i can get the wiring tucked out of view. I can't be arsed with having cables everywhere hehe

Thats what I did in my old car. To be honest though. Whatever this carpet stuff is thats on my box. it acts like velcro anyway. It never moves. I actually have to lift it up to move it around in the boot.

I've just been out and redone the earth the wire. Looks much better now.

Bit late now but heres my advice -
UK CARS

Drivers Sidefootwell - take out the plastic under the steering wheel (3 skrewdriver bolts)
at the back theres a rubber bung bang a hole threw it, run the cable ect - dead easy down the side of the seats under the carpet theres loads of room

Earth Point - In the boot drop the seats down and on your left hand side (looking in from the rear) under the boot carpet there is a skrew thats welded to the body so unskrew the carpet there are 2 bolts and youll see it, bit of sandpaper, copper greese, washer and earth point sorted

To keep the sub tidy and not have an amp flapping around or drilling seats make something like this so you can access the amps wires and controls and will fit in any car after... this is mine before carpeting

£5ers worth of mdf in total install + box will take you 1hour/2hours if your unsure.
