Unfortantley i couldnt get my timelapse camera working, and we were so busy that pictures are a little thin on the ground due to the speed of work taking place.

It started this weekend with the car like this on the trailer

Despite the empty reading on the gauge I Got 15litres of fuel out of it to quench my Jeeps Thirst

Front panel having spot welds drilled as panel will be used to repair a crash damaged 89 240GLT

Stripping the car it was remarked that structally it was one of the soundest 240's that any of us had seen, none of the usually grot areas had taken hold at all. Such a shame the paintwork laquer had spoilt the car.

The tailgate and 7 seater kit, rear lights went for use on an 87 240GL

The fuel tank was removed for a 1980 240 GL Turbo to combat the fuel surge starvation issues.

What was left of the front end once engine and wiring was removed.

The Complete wiring loom will be used to make a late 70's early 80's 240 shell into a Turbo car, the gearbox and back axle n prop will be making there way into the 1980 240GL Turbo thats also recieving the fuel tank and the Powersteering Pump & Rack.

The engine was stripped of its intermediate shaft, sensors and flywheel, engine mounts etc for fittment to a 940 Turbo engine that will make the next 240 Turbo project that the wiring loom is going for.

Then heres some pics of the shell loaded onto the trailer, with a few bits of extra scrap i had laying about the garage thrown in. It weighed 890KG's

All in all, the car was used very effectively and many many of its parts will keep another 4-5 240's on the road.

We discovered that the steel wheels and tyres were actually 15inch 940 Rims, so they went to a 940 that was in desperate need of some decent tyres.

All i have left in parts of the 240 now Is

Genuine Volvo Towbar which features a towball that can swing underneath the car, comes with electric loom & all bolts and fittings to mount to your 240 £30 Collected, or i may be able to arrange a courier if need be.

MAF Mass Air Flow Meter £20 + Postage

Looking in my loft i do have a set of Bonnet Springs for a 240 in red. The ones on the Blue car were knackered. £10 + Postage

And thats it.

In all there were the following cars parked in my drives and in the street at the weekend.

2x240, 2x 740, 2x940, 2x 960/S90, 1x V40, 1x S60, 2x P2V70, 2x S80, a (Fiesta and a Corsa due to owners volvos being involved in accident or in repair).

Good going Chesh! Sad to see another 240 gone but the parts were used to keep many more on the road which is a good sacrifice.

Thanks for the underbonnet sound insulation! My 1991 245GL loves it!

I also have some other users bits ready for collection here up in Stoke.
