Andy, I get my car tuned at Bogg Brothers of East Lutton Yorkshire. These are the people who (and I stand to be shouted down) pioneered bike carbs on cars. The make the manifold etc. http://www.boggbros.co.uk/

By the way I do not work for Boggs or have a connection to them other than getting my car tuned on the rolling road.

My feeling for what its worth is that you could have a set up similar to what you are suggesting but it will be in the good old UK and they tend to use readily available bike carbs.

I still have SUs and to be honest when they wear out I will seriously consider a a bike carb conversion or changing to a single Weber. When you look at the cost of re-bushing the original SU carbs or buying new/reconditioned SU it seems to be a no brainer.

Hi Clive,
Many thanks for this.
I gave them a call this morning and they understand what I am after.
Hopefully this could offer the solution I am looking for.

Thanks,

Andy.

Been having a read of conversions with Yamaha R1 carbs, seems like quite a straight forward conversion. Plenty of info on the web if anyone is interested.

No. But plenty of 1.8 and 2l engine conversions for guidance.

Sorry Andy I don't post up stuff I do anymore.

If you haven't got the tools to make a inlet manifold Bogg Bros will make you one for about £200 apparently. A set of carbs can be had for £100 to 200. The jets need drilling out, Bogg Bros could recommend a size but from what I read about 1.8mm would be about right. A low pressure R1 fuel pump is recommended to be fitted, costs about £20. Then that should run. Balance carbs and set needles on a rolling road and that should be you.

You'd also need to decide which way you go for the accelerator cable/rod, choke and filters.
