The camera can talk and read the files on a Mac it is just the metadata of the GPS location stuff that won't be availabl as the CB player won't work.

I know I'm the new guy round here but I use one of these, perfectly fine for what it is and does 720 resolution

My mate uses a roadhawk and that camera actually produces a better picture but you don't get the time and date like you do with the roadhawk

Its that data that would be crucial in the event of an incident. I'll email them to see if they anticipated Mac readiness soon.

Even if they did my friend you need the CB player to see it there is an overlay of speed, time, date on any recordings. It is included with any file.

I don't think the insurer would have direct access to the CB player without you sending it to them anyway so I doubt it really causes any issues. It is not as though you cannot view the footage, know the speed, time and date and of course the incident viewing.

As for the GPS data you could just virtual box it on the Mac, I mean this is being typed on a Mac...but with erm windows running 24/7.

I've got a blackvue dr4000g hd and works great. Loops fine too. You can change the settings so that when it loops it can overwrite everything including events etc. you can record by time which will loop everthing, or by type where it loops by type so for example. 60% normal, 20% event, 20% parking. It explains in the manual.

I get about 9 hours odd I think on my 32gb mini sd card at full HD 1920x1080 @ 30fps

Yep, the software doesn't work on a mac. I've got a mac, but you can still look at all the data on the card and the videos.

I've got a windows laptop though so have the software running on there.

For those that doesn't know, google has changed the google maps api key so the mapping will not work with the blackvue software now. So no google maps tracking with the video in the software. However, you just need the latest blackvue player and it works fine with google maps again. You can download from the below link as well.

The blackvue.com website seems up the duff, but you can look here instead which is full of info and video clips
