It would still devalue a Bentley Blower :

Historically they've always been BRG as far as i'm aware.

Yes but if I could afford one I would not be bother about the residual value, I would just enjoy it on the colour of my choice!

There’s one for sale for £620k so it would have to be a good lottery win before I could afford it!

Is it BRG by any chance?

Some of it is a nice shiny green ie the bonnet and wings probably BRG and the rest a sort of Matt green - not very pretty!

Would be much better in a nice dark blue with the whole car the same colour.

With cream trim/accents on the bodywork - i can see that working well but the point i'm trying to make is that historically they were all BRG which is where "Green" became "British Racing Green" came from as far as i know.

Yes but times change and so do our tastes.

The Bentleys were in their heyday 100 years ago and all things move on.

Not sure that I would get on with the manual gearbox as I have only driven autos for the last 40 years.

The big clues in your post and mine were times change and historically respectively.

The way i see it, if someone wants to spend £600k on a Bentley Blower, they'll want it genuine and original - and green.

The way you see it, if you have that kind of money to splash on a car then you want it in your colour scheme because times have changed. It's not like you could use it on todays roads regularly though.

As for the manual crash gearbox, i couldn't get on with that these days either, been driving autos for about 35 years apart from a few short term stop-gap cars and any company vehicles i've had.

A blown Bentley was the Volvo 940 Turbo of its time - inline 4 cylinder, forced induction, developed from a rather underpowered sedate sedan.
