I'm assuming the rear axle connection is ok as the speedo itself works Bob. All the test i've done point to it being the instrument itself with one minor possibility it is the green/black earth wire from the cluster being high resistance.
The needle is basically on a moving coil meter movement as far as i can see which would take very little current. The motor to drive the odo/trip meters would take considerably more so this is a possibility. Hoping to check it out today as well as trying to sort an intermittent connection to the instrument lighting. If i get any joy with the green/black wire, i'll post on here as it might help someone else.

Thanks for the thought/idea anyway!

Hi, I sent you a PM a few days ago, but it seems you are not yet allowed to PM. Could you reply to me by email please (assuming you got my PM)?

Thanks,

Hi Bob

The email address I sent via PM was definitely correct, perhaps copy and paste it into your email and it should work. I've just send it over by PM again

I'd like to take the V90 steering rack and a few other bits perhaps

Many thanks

Smile Those parts again!

Hi again all,

Following the myriad of enquiries from you all, I've decided that I will have to make a list of everything that I have left.

Do keep asking, that will make the list easier and hopefully shorter. It may take me a while, but when it's complete I'll post it on here for all to see.

My thanks to all of you that I have been able to 'satisfy' with the odd bit or two of a Volvo.

Cheers, Bob

Rod, I've got some PDF's of the old (pre-turbo, but still kind of applies) D24 greenbooks, and also some other bits I've saved (like IP timing etc).

If you need them drop your email to me in a PM and I'll send em to you!

Hi Bob,
I have just acquired a 1997 940 Classic turbo and am looking for a 'workshop' manual - Haynes or Volvo would be fine. Any chance that you might have an Owner's Manual.
Best of luck with your sale. You can email me on bwvvickery@yahoo.co.uk or phone on 01845-524517
Brian.

Sorry Rod, nothing for a diesel at all.
Bob.
