Phew!

I have the option of choosing a different paint colour. My original choice was Savile Grey before I changed it to Bright Silver. I'm tempted to go back to Savile Grey especially having seen an XC90 that colour at the dealers today.

Great News.

Great!
I do wonder what will happen to your current car after it has been replaced.

I don't know who is funding the replacement: the dealer, Volvo UK or the factory.

If it's the dealer, I assume they'll run it as a demonstrator for a few months, before or after fixing the paintwork. Once it's second-hand, I guess the state of the paintwork becomes less of an issue.

I'll see what I can find out.

Not brave enough perhaps! Attached is the Savile Grey one at the dealer's today. If only that paint colour had a different name...

I nearly went with that colour but only saw it on another model. Nice colour but just a bit dark for me.

So glad to hear it's been resolved; amicably I hope?
It shouldn't have taken this long and generated such stress though.

Yes, I'd say amicably. We got there in the end although it did take rather too long and, as you say, led to unnecessary stress.

I'm glad to report a happy outcome that may reinforce confidence in the brand for others.

Great to hear you've got it sorted in the end, and a new car is definitely the way to go. Regarding the Savile Grey, have you seen it in the sunlight? I looked at It on an XC60 in shade and on a V70 in direct sunlight, on the same forecourt. I liked it in the shade, but it was too khaki green for me in direct sunlight.

Having spent time with the car, are there any other options you'd consider changing? For all your hassle I'd expect the dealer to oblige!
