This was for sale last September in Lytham St. Anne’s, @£5k +. Now at Kings Lynn, although the photos are the Lytham
ones!

I thought you were on hols in Greece?

:-)

It sounds like the seller is down on his luck and has to sell quickly; there might be a lot of that soon.

It is nice to know you are interested enough in this old Volvo forum to drop us a line every now and then from the poolside :-).

OK, the Volvo they never speak of...
https://www.carandclassic.com/car/C1494703

Wikipedia tells the sorry tale:
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Plastic_bicycle

Any 240 owner with a tan plastic interior will weep at the following:
Quote:
In December 1977, Volvo in Gothenburg wanted to produce minicars and investigated conditions and designs. In January 1978, it proposed plastic composite materials in many parts of the car. Other products were considered, the bicycle one of them.
I think my interior was made from recycled Itera parts...

An Itera! I wouldn't mind one of those, although I find Bonham's 25% buyer's premium a bit steep.
I worked on a client's idea for a GFRP folding bike in the early 1980s. It was rather neat but failed for lack of funding. Unfortunately, I no longer have any of the drawings.

Volvo designed the Itera with a 54000Kr Government grant, doubt you'd have gotten £5000 off Keith Joseph for a bicycle prototype

Silly money restorations in the bicycle world too:

...and insanely hopeful boutique dealers dreaming of that big payday for the bike they found in the basement:

A pricey P1800ES, but it's passed the TÜV and well sorted.
