It’s a bit of a bugger when one has to wring the truth out isn’t it?

Aye, if you fancy it , a fair offer, when it doesn’t sell ?

It is indeed Andrew,

Anyway, now I know the seller is all bluff and bluster, and that is to my advantage (in a poker player way).

I was just looking through the bids at the auction (the one I posted a link to above - early July). It struggled to get to £2,000 - indeed I'd say the £2,000 one was probably a shill bid. Now I know the motor car is a counterfeit of some sort and the seller is a bluffer, so my once only bid is likely to be 2 grand... then start walking away :-)

"Grandpa had some sheep, apparantly"

He deduced this from the presence of a towbar...?
No, he deduced this from the wool tufts, droppings in the footwell and general sheepy smell from the back seats....

Doesn't look like a farmer's car. Not even slightly, too clean and not an estate. That bit doesn't make any sense...

That might well be right!!!!

I'm thinking I'd be foolish to buy this one without a look at it first - but it is a 320 mile round trip. The classified ad ends tomorrow, but I suspect the seller will get in touch afterwards. I might see if Clarkie is fancies a day trip to Liverpool, take £2,000 in folding money with me and not a pound more. If I like it I could buy some insurance on the Interweb and Clarkie could follow me home in my car.

If I don't get round to doing that next week then the motor car will probably still be available in September.

:-)

The car looks as if it has twin, ( caravan), electrics, the only plug visible is pale grey which is for the caravan fridge etc not a sheep trailer.

How about that for picky!🤨

Well, that may well be true Bob This one has a bit more value than some because of a particular quirk on the British taxation system whereby vehicles become tax exempt when they are just over 40 years old. Depending on the vehicle that adds 50-100% to the value.

This one qualifies in 18 months time. If it was a 1989 car it would be worth £1500.

:-)

Perhaps the sheep had a fridge so they could enjoy a beer on the way to the abattoir?

I think the vendor's trying to pull the wool over our eyes.
