I can never get the copied discs to work, only the original ones will work in my nav drive...

I guess this is the laser ready to give up...

On my old Audi I had the RNS-E and for £60 you could get a dvd drive for it from Japan, the Volvo equivalent is like £240, seems ridiculous when they do the same job!

I came across this thread 2 days ago when I searched for updates for sat nav as Im driving a 2005 S40 T5 and noticed that there were a lot of roads missing.

I did the following.

(1) Found the link to another site in this thread -

http://gpsunderground.com/forum/volv...m-p2001-3.html

(2) Which had a link to a torrent site uploaded by swebigmac
Latest version for Volvo RTI (MMM/P2001)

https://thepiratebay.se/torrent/1042...MMM_2001P_2014

My internet server provider (virgin media) blocks the torrent sites so I had to use a proxy server to access it.

https://pirateproxy.la/torrent/10425...MMM_2001P_2014

You need to use a torrent site to download this and I have Utorrent on my laptop

http://www.utorrent.com/downloads/win

(3) Once it was downloaded onto my laptop I went out and purchased Verbatim 8x DVD+R DL (Dual layer) as advised by the guys here.

(4) Next I downloaded imgburn as it seems to be the dvd burner of choice on this thread

WARNING - When I downloaded and tried to install this my AVG security blocked it as it said there was malware attached, I chose to override this and allow it to install.

http://www.imgburn.com/index.php?act=download&

(5) Next I opened imgburn and selected the option in the top right corner -

WRITE IMAGE FILE TO DISC

I selected the lowest write speed I could which was x2 but it said the lowest speed my laptop would go is x3 so this is what I went with.
It asks you to select the source file so I clicked on the magnifying glass and selected Navigation Disc A as this covers Ireland and clicked on the write icon at the bottom of the screen.

Disc finished about 15/20 mins later and ejected.

I didn't expect this disc to work as I have read that you need to have the disc labeled for the dvd player to read it but tried it anyway.

GREAT NEWS IS IT WORKED FIRST TIME

I put the original disc back in and went into the system settings and took a pic of the about screen, then put the new disc back in and did the same.

Ive attached the photos of both to show you guys.

This is the original disc in the dvd player

Hi IrishAlan.....can you tell me what update jump you made? For instance, did you have success without the intermediate updates that have been talked about (2006 2010)? Or were you updating from quite a recent edition. Well done anyway!

You have to ensure that your DVD writer is set to 'DVD-ROM' within Imgburn.

I have just burnt all 3 discs for the 2014 MMM/P2001 RTI system and they work fine in my MY2002 S60. This included updating the 'firmware' upon initial reading of disc in the DVD drive.
I also used Verbatim DL discs.

Sorry to drag up an old thread. But really grabbing at straws here to see if anybody possibly has 2013 discs, part no 31396119?
We purchased some off ebay but disc 2 has a different part no, so our car is stuck updating asking for disc 2, which we now don't have.
I've contacted seller to see if she has muddled discs and Im awaiting her answer. There is also one other set on ebay for £80.
Was just wondering if anyone on here has the disc 2 and would sell to me. Or I can pay for a loan of it and post it back to you.
Many thanks.

Hi all - what’s the newest update discs I can use in my 2005 xc90 rti sat nav ? Hoping it would make it more useable as I hardly ever touch it due to the long winded street finder rather than postcodes ....
