Green Flag through the Caravan Club. I phoned them today to check as I have just changed from a 12' caravan to one that is 22' 11" they say they have NO weight or size restictions which is a relief as I am covered by them for car & caravan.

As far as I can tell the RAC does not have a direct equivellent of Mayday or Arrival as these are arranged through the respective clubs and not direct with the rescue organisation.

Under normal joining terms non of the rescue organisations (AA, RAC, Green Flag) will offer cover for the breakdown of the caravan but will tow the caravan if the towing vehicle breaks down. I'm with Mayday through the caravan club and have found the service excellent.

I can recommend the RAC, i had a blow out on the M42 with 23ft van on the back. RAC came replaced tyre made temporary repairs to damaged wheel well and arch, in the dark and rain, really tried his best.

I used to work for the AA as a patrolman,
They used to recover caravans any size, as long as they could be towed.
If the caravan has a problem and patrol man couldnt fix
max 22 foot total lengh as lorry flat bed not long enough.
most of the time its was No spare wheels being carried!!
or wheels falling off after been serviced, a few electrial problems
Left the AA three years ago might have changed a bit now.
if you ring them they will tell you, I am still covered by them, my caravan is 22 foot total lengh

If you contact the RAC for the arrival cover they give you a years free membership of the caravan and camping club, also the Arrival cover with take you to the camp site if you are on your way to your site and if you have a major prob they will take you home at the end of your break after.
