laneystrider, thanks for the links. I've used Breakeryard.com before and found it to be quite effective although nothing has come back regarding a glow plug relay after countless re-submits. I will definitely try the others and save them for future use; they are very handy for sourcing parts!

jor, I've been loosely searching for the Audi alternative but no luck. I'll do a bit more research if nothing comes out of the above methods.

This (120154915633) is the correct one I think - the problem being that unless sellers accept ppal payment is rather difficult as bank drafts cost rather a lot! Consider getting the Audi 100 diesel manual, which only covers the engine of your car, but will come in handy for this and other Audi part numbers, as well as being an essential maintenance tool, though I know there are a lot of excellent technical articles in the 850 section.
