I replaced a rear wheel bearing on my 2007 C70. For me it was an easy job as I was doing the rear pads and discs at the same time. Once the disc is off, it's one connector and the four bolts from the back, None of them were that difficult to remove (but needed a good selection of socket extensions to get to one of them), took about 10 mins longer than just doing the brakes alone.

So it all depends on if your bolts are rusted in or not, or if they've been damaged from someone using the wrong tools.

FWIW I had front bearing, caliper (1), pads and discs both sides done and it came to £349 in total. £54 was for the bearing and £130 for 3.25hrs for all the work @ £40 per hour

Thanks for all the replies.

Waiting for an estimate from local mechanic, however yesterday i had an inner drive shaft cv boot replaced by Kwik-fit for the total price of £150 including 4 wheel alignment which was way cheaper than expected.
I was told this was a full shaft out and repair not an in place split boot repair.

They mentioned they could take on the hub bearing job so i might get a quote.
The guy who fitted this is the same mot tester that has done my car for the last 7 years and seems good.

The time that Volvo say is 60 VST = 36 min. (100 VST= 60 min, 10 VST= 6 min)
