No, it doesn't.

You need to leave the 'Climate Control' on.
It's an expensive computer that does a better job than fiddling with all the settings. When it's off you'll get a build up of moisture in the car and then you'll be paying a garage to to fix it.

Yes, un-ticking the Auxiliary Heater in the Sensus menu will stop Pre-Conditioning from operating. Basically, when you un-tick the Auxiliary Hearter, the car Fuel Fired Auxiliary heater will not run preventing Pre-Conditioning from working and preventing the unit was warming up the ICE coolant system when running in electric mode. This provides both cabin heating and warms the ICE a bit meaning when you do ever have the ICE run, cold start wear in the engine is reduced as the block and oil system have some warmth in it.
Id just leave it ticked and enjoy the Cabin heating, the unit doesn't use much fuel and also means the fuel in your tank is used and wont go stale.

Not on my car. The Auxiliary heater has 2 distinct functions. Unticking the Additional Heater only affects that particular function, i.e. using the heater to raise the cabin and engine temperatures rather than relying solely on the engine.

The Parking Heater function (aka pre-conditioning) is unaffected and continues to function as required.

That is exactly how my car works also.

Thats surprising, both of my XC60 T8's (first with a fuel fired auxiliary heater and Sensus and current with electric Auxiliary heater and AAOS) have no pre-conditioning operating when I turn off the Auxiliary heater.

Same for me, unticking will halt the precondition function. It will prob cool still in the summer but not heat in the cold.
