I would have thought they must all use more or less the same actuarial risk figures. Seems very strange.

My D3 AWD was £270 with Aviva, then of course there is the cashback to come from Quidco of £80!!

My swiftcover insurance on my previous car froze my protected no claims discount, i.e. I didn't earn an extra year, simply because I had a windscreen claim because of a crack.

even allowing for a D3 I cannot get anywhere near the prices that you are getting.

I am putting in 18,000 miles and £250 voluntary excess, these seem to be the main drivers of the price (given that our ages are similar) - what are the main drivers for your quotes?

I would really like to know given that there is such a huge difference.

My quote is for 14,000 miles and £250 total excess. I am the main driver with my wife as a named driver. I wouldn't have thought that an extra 4,000 miles would add that much, say around £30-£35?? Edited to add: Just checked on moneysupermarket.com and it added only £8.

I wonder if you live in a black spot for insurance claims?

Could you try putting in an address in Bristol to see if that brings it more in line.

I would have said age and location are quite key?

I am 64 and live in the South Hams od Devon, only 2 years no claims and £270 from Aviva 2 months back.

Well folks I give up

changed car to a D3 SE AWD, result premium increased by £50 over my 2 year old D5 SE AWD

changed to a Bristol address (my offices in Filton) and guess what, yep increased by £40

Reduced mileage to 14,000 result saved £15

reduced excess to £250 total, result increased by £35

Clearly I must be a risk, or the wife - or maybe they just don't like me, whatever it is I cannot seem to get the super cheap deals that you are managing to get

Only other thing I can think of is Occupation. I presume you are not a professional footballer :-), but things like being in the pub trade can make a big difference. I just put my occupation down as Manager.
