....but if you ignore all those bankers who have been paid fortunes to practically ruin our country, and all those other individuals who have never done a days REAL work yet get huge bonusses, it would come down much further.

According to the F.T. website the average salary in 1960 was £948-93p, in 2009 it was £37,580-11p. which means had petrol prices increased in line with salaries it would be around £1-83 ltr. YES, I was suprised too, but I still moan when a fill-up costs me £85+!

PS hope that lot in Westminster don't see this or they'll whack it up even more.
my current salary is....7500. yep you read right

Geting back too petrol prices.... or the moan about the impending VAT increase....
Yes my wage is not much more than £12k where £37k comes from is a mystery.

Next year everything will go up once VAT at 20% takes hold.
I run a small business and have tried as hard as possible this last year, too hold prices over the last 24 months.
But supplies have gone up and one of our suppliers has made 3 price increases over the last year that equate to a 35% increase.
This year I am putting prices up by 15% and adding another 2.5% for VAT!!!!
I believe this will be the way of many if not all companies this year.
This is the first real increase I have made in 5 years and I know their will be plenty who will moan at me but it has came to this!!!
This government/bankers have forced this on us and it will be Joe public who will have to pay.

2011 is not going to be the happiest, mark my words friends.

Right, yes so i have found a 'safe' and 'manageable' supply of methanol in 25ltr containers near me for £16.00 99.9% pure..used normally for bio diesel producers, I'm going to risk the problems of it eating my petrol lines and seals and going to see how it is...i wonder how versatile K-Jet systems are.... I may mix it with a little injector cleaner and maybe a little petrol to provide lubricant...or even go as far as using turps or white spirit (non fuel duty taxed items) as this stuff is oily and would lubricate seals..(my diesel loved neat white spirit!)

Petrol for 25ltr in 2011 - £31.75
Methanol 25ltr - £16.00 (mixed with a gallon of unleaded = £22.00 for 6-7 gallons of fuel...more like it!

right now currently with veggie oil for diesel you have to declare if you are using over 2500 liters per year....and back up your purchases with receipts of alternative fuel purchases..if you use 2500 or less then you dont have to declare it..they only dip test diesel fueled vehicles, and if petrol has been mixed with the methanol then the smell of petrol should be present..also petrol is a light P*** colour so the redex fuel injector cleaner will make up that color i guess.. should be fine!

I will keep you all posted!
