I know its not a sports car but it doesn't wallow now as shocks are much more responsive.
Same here. Upgraded to bilstein hd and car corners quite well now actually. My shocks passed the dealer inspection plus bounce test as well but they were def shot.

Hi Packman. Choose shocks carefully for what kind of ride you want. I once had a V40 that had a sport pack fitted. The ride was so hard it was tiring on long journeys and ruined the car for me and constantly looking out and dodging potholes ,even small ones made driving a chore.

I had B12's on an E class and eibach lowering springs. Epic on a smooth road, but big bumps would see the car bottom out and had issues with camber adjustments and alignment.

When I uprated alloys on my SE LUX from 17's to 18" Axioms I found the difference in handling and weight of the steering to be a significant and hugely surprising positive transformation. Add on the r-design styling pack and I now have the V70 with the interior I want (white cream leather on black and silver dash/carpets), all the toys I want, and the exterior appearance I want. Result!

Lol, there are two tyre size options listed for 18 rims, either 235 or 245 width, see side of your tyres.

Do these new shocks not affect the ride?
Coming from BMW ilk I've definitely noticed my v70 corner like a bus, but just figured the trade up in comfort was worth it...

Yes, very noticeably. In fact, at first I found them too stiff but either I've gotten used to them or they have actually mellowed a bit over the last year because now I find them to be perfect! The ride is firmer but not harsh and the cornering is quite solid. I can now take a hard turn with confidence.

These are the ones I opted for. I replaced front and rear at the same time:

They look like the bilge in b6, about £550, there is also a b4 available for around £220, not quite as firm. Incidently Monroe have the "reflex" shock available, not sure on their quality ?
Also won some 18 alloys on the net, will run with 245 40 18.
