  • VOC Members: There is no login facility using your VOC membership number or the details from page 3 of the club magazine. You need to register in the normal way
  • AOL Customers: Make sure you check the 'Remember me' check box otherwise the AOL system may log you out during the session. This is a known issue with AOL.
  • AOL, Yahoo and Plus.net users. Forum owners such as us are finding that AOL, Yahoo and Plus.net are blocking a lot of email generated from forums. This may mean your registration activation and other emails will not get to you, or they may appear in your spam mailbox

I was thinking the same thing, since you can pick them up, but they would have to be a matched car set, not quite so easy to find.

If my local Volvo dealer can cut and program a key I'm happy with that, the alarm/central door locking fob etc can wait.

I think so, even on early 98 cars from what I've found, which is why it's a Volvo job, as opposed to Timpsons and the like.

The ring attached to the ignition barrel is just the antenna for the immobiliser, (you can change the ring easily as it's not programmed) it is wired back to the immobiliser control box.

Indeed it is, and of course replacing that with a used part, even with keys, would be of no help without the matching box.
