So I don't need the DICE interface for testing stuff?

VIDA gives you a LOT of information about your car.

- Parts catalogue, specific to your VIN.
- Service schedule and how tos.
- how to guides on pretty much everything
- testing procedures for individual components

DICE is the gubbins that you hook up to the computer and car to read and change settings in the various electronic modules.

So,

VIDA = software that can give me a parts list and procedures for testing parts by entering my cars vin number.

DICE = interface between my laptop and my car.

I can use VIDA by inputting my cars vin, this will give me "a parts list and procedures for testing parts" but if I want to run diagnostics or change settings I need DICE to? So without DICE I'm only able to use about 50% of what VIDA can actually do, but I can use it?

VIDA I can download for free, in fact I already have the 2012D version but didn't think it was of much use without DICE.

Not sure what anyone could actually do with my VIN number but I've edited the pic just in case.

outnumbered(Mike), I found one of your youtube vids of what I think is you testing the vacuum system of an XC90.

Is that how the gauge should look when its connected to a system in good condition(no leaks)?
