Probably not but they are not going to say so are they. I suspect it did not.

Volvo UK support do not acknowledge any service bulletin on the VOC module / battery fault. They are repeating that the Dealer Tech says it’s the centre speaker fault.
I no longer have any confidence in either party to properly diagnose this problem. Next car will NOT be a Volvo for a number of reasons.

My dealer did not say it was a "service bulletin", just a software update.

So no official acknowledgment from Volvo that the VCM or the VoC system may have a problem with the battery? My car has only just had the latest software update when the service was done but this didn’t remove the warning message.

Just had this error message come up on my MY22 V60. Booked into dealer under warranty and hopefully they will fix it but this is the second warranty visit since I bought the car 2 months ago. Not a great start to Volvo ownership!

Late 2016 S90 Inscription.

Just got the "VOC Requires service" message. Slightly anxious at the plethora of possible cause-cure-(or not) posts here. E.g.
1. Software update needed
2. VOC subscription renewal needed
3. New AUX battery needed
4. New VOC-specific battery (small, located o/s rear door) needed
5. Related to Volvo phone app
and most disturbing of all
6. Dealer indicated .. they had no real idea what was causing the error message

Additional info : at the same time the "memory" or "history" button on the s/wheel [not quite sure what to call it - a bit like a "copy text" icon on a Window pc! and showing lists of past trips/calls/media/journeys thus enabling quick repeat] is not responding.

Background : I had the similar dashboard message "Start/Stop Service required" about 18 months ago resulting in a replacement AUX battery - **but only after several dealer visits and numerous failed cures** - where the same associated fault (non-responding history button) was a coincidental symptom. So the AUX battery should be in good condition .. .. ????

The car is going in for attention next week. Can't face the prospect of another long drawn out business but I'll cross fingers. Meanwhile the message is annoyingly intrusive. Alben said ".. .. just keep hitting the cancel button on the steering wheel at each re start". Please excuse ignorance - just not sure what this means. Button at end of left-hand stalk? If not, then (a) what is the cancel button referred to; and (b) what is the stalk button for?

Thanks, guys.

Took charger off yesterday (battery fully charged now) but the massage still came up but again went out as engine started. Is low battery likely cause and will this warning disappear does anyone know pls now charged? Dealer suggested I need to drive it for some miles and if it was battery warning will disappear, I’m not so sure. Dealer is an hour away so keen to avoid that trip if possible.
On Call doesn't use the car battery it has its own internal Very long life battery so that if the car has a crash bad enough to smash the car battery It can still make it's emergency calls. It needs proper investigation , and a fault code should lead to a correct diagnosis.

The centre O button on the right steering wheel cluster is the cancel button. The left stalk button resets the trip meter.
