I have had black, white and red cars over the past 5 years and the black one always was the worst to keep clean.

It is strange how white cars show the dirt as "black" whilst other colours show the dirt as "white".

I loved my white 945, easy to keep clean, the second mid blue was of course good but the black Toyota was a REAL pain. Current grey V70 brill but I have a soft spot for white, always have even when not in fashion as they are now.

never understood the resurgence of white as a popular colour. Should have been left in the 80's with XR3i's or just for Police cars.
Dreadful colour,or is it a tone?
Makes motors look like fridges.

Each to their own, eh Loskie....FYI, I had an XR3i in the 80's....in black....& that was a right pain to keep clean!
I personally think the white looks really sharp, especially with the tinted windows.....mind you, my fridge is silver, so perhaps that explains why I don't think of Stormy as a fridge

My Mrs had a white car in the 80's she vowed then never to get a white car again - and she hasn't.
Everyone to their own, but I think white shows the dirt just as bad as black or any other colour for that matter.

I have had a number of white cars and loads of black. White undoubtedly the worst, lower doors, wheel arches and panels showing every splash of muck and a quick clean-off left two shades of white!
Never personally had a problem with metallic black, only ever swill it off after rain (never polished) and it looks stunning. Mind you, I don't have detailing aspirations - waste of effort, does anyone really care what other people's cars look like??!!

Nope, I don't car what other peoples cars look like......but I like mine in nice condition
Mind you, in winter, all bets are off for me....it's gonna get dirty no matter what colour, so let it.....if we have a nice weekend & I have time spare, I'll give it a wash, but otherwise it could be a while.....
Like Harvey & Sunshine, I sometimes wash the wheels in between, gives a great illusion of a clean car with very little effort!

I use one of the spray on detailers on my car and it comes up lovely every time I wash it. It also gives the nice beading effect when it rains.

If I wanted to drive around in a dirty/messy car I wouldn't have bought a brand new XC60. I like it to look great.
