Have used the CC to insure ours for years we do not even bother to shop around now as we had trouble to start with as people were not interested in a 1967 caravan but with the bunting brigade getting more popular there might now be more options. We don't mind the CC membership as it give the other half a mag to read while we are away.
We did have one problem we do not have a chassis plate so had to have the police round to write a letter to say it did not have one 😍

A lot of the older caravans are now being bought and painted pretty pale pink and blue with flowery material 😉😉

As you've already found, you haven't been 'refused cover', the insurer has declined to offer you a quote, incredibly different things but something a LOT of people fall fowl of.
Refused cover is along the lines of, cover stopped and terminated due to suspicion of fraud, failure to keep up with payments etc |

£51 insurance with camping and caravan club for a 1995 Avondale. That is based on storage at a camping and caravan club site though.

Have been a member of camping and caravan club for many years now, the membership is worth it for the breakdown cover, being the only driver if incapacitated for any reason they supply a driver to get the car and van home amongst other benefits.
I joined many years ago when we camped as a family. Camp sites vary greatly in standard and when the other end of the country it was difficult to ascertain exactly what the standard was pretty internet days. I found no matter where in the country I went the standard of CCC sites was always exemplary in comparison to some commercial sites that despite paying a deposit we refused to stay on. First thing wife did when we arrived was visit the toilet block, more than one failed her examination and we moved on, pretty booked or not. Caravan has the advantage of being self contained compared with a tent. Paul. |
