I have indeed, all turns up ok, previous plate was W337MWE and ran a check on that too. No records of problems

I think he is atrader. I spoke to him on the phone today and he seemed like a nice chap so fingers crossed all is ok. I'm not holding my breath on any kind of warranty though.

He admitted he made a considerable loss on this vehicle, so I guess it could very well be a bargain.

Make sure that the cam belt has been changed. My W reg S40 had the cam belt changed at 86K and the second broke at 163K ouch. expensive top end rebuild. ( I've owned her from new)

All going well now some 5K miles on - but off the road for a couple of months and £2K worse off!

Well I picked it up today and drove over 100miles back with it. Drove fine, if a little noisy (I'm not too used to Diesels). Everything appears to work fine, electrics are all fine, heated seats, windows, mirrors, lights etc. Reverse can be difficult to get in sometimes, ou need to whack it hard to the left to get in?

There was a slight alarm at the mileage, it didn't tally up on the speedo with the MOT but it aappears that the test station fat fingered the numbers wrong (it says 127k on the clock but the test says 140k+! however they have indicated on one of the reciepts that this is an error).

The reciept is there for about £1100 of work last Novemeber: Service, filters, screen wash, brake clean, oil change, engine flush, sump washer, cabin filters, diesel conditioner, wiper blades, shock top mounts, shock top bearings, shock top brackets, rear spring, rear pads, cambelt kit, battery. So it all look alright

My old S40 had a fault with the Ashtray pop-out mechanism. Seems this is common because this one has jammed and in the process of trying to remove it I have broken it! So I need a new one (now to find someone breaking their 40!

It just needs a little cleaning up and TLC and Ill be happy

Looks cracking, it's amazing how cheap these go for now, mine was a bargain too.
Same colour as yours, V40 T4 with 12 months MOT, 7 months tax and a full service history for £700 and in good overall condition, all except for a fag burn in the drivers seat.
Cleaned up beautifully and looks like new...enjoy

It has all the previous MOTs and receipts. The mileage on these documents add up, it's just the last one doesn't so I'll check it out.

Drivers wiper arm appears to be the wrong one - it catches on the bonnet when I open it up!
