So don’t be misunderstanding that every XC60 owner in England is running around with no cost servicing. We get charged silly prices from main dealers over here in England just the same as in Australia. The £200 approximate equivalent that you were charged for what amounts to basically changing the oil and filter seems to be on par with the sort of prices we are paying for what are considered premium brands.

3 Years complimentary Servicing*

"Now there’s even more reason to buy a new Volvo, with 3 years complimentary servicing on all New Volvo XC60's registered between 1st January 2010 and 31st March 2010"

I got a VERY good deal as well as free servicing for 3 years (or 3 services)..... even though mine will be registered in April .... if anyone has been fobbed off I would pop back and point the salesman to the Volvo UK website

Cheers

Yes I did get the scrappage and the Volvo support . I did take the Volvo Finance as the rate of 3.4% that they were offering at that time was better than any of the banks.

I didn't negotiate very hard, all I had in my pocket was the prices that others were offering, a rudimentary knowledge of how VAT is applied (this will saved a lump), and a salesman whom I respected and he respected me.

It was a very pleasant sale and I can highly recommend Squire Furneaux in Guildford if you want a good price. The salesman was Ian Hunt and he would be happy to help you

The other item to bear in mind is the Volvo Owners Club discount - useful for accessories that you have installed AFTER you have bought the car - that saved me a large lump from the cost of the removable towbar You have 3 months to have them fitted and then you get the warranty as if it was fitted at time of purchase, with the discount that cannot be applied when you purchase the car.

Hope this helps someone.

We turned in a clunker for the Scrappage, got a deal within a couple of percent of DtD, paid cash and got the 3yrs service.

Certainly the ones that were bought in the last 6 months

And then there are the free updates to the satnav system

Just to show us all how bad a deal we have got (the masochists amongst us) what percentage discount should one have got off the retail on the road price? I.e. retail £10,000 total, retail -10% discount £1,000 =paid £9,000

I managed to get 15%, plus the PX which made a total of 38% discount from list (plus free Supagard and collection from home for services (50 mile round trip)). On the towbar I paid GBP574 installed (removable with 13 pin electrics)

I posted the details here http://www.volvoforums.org.uk/showthread.php?t=76188

As I recall most people were getting around the same, though some got even better

Funny comment, the muganic did have a steel bucket on his head! Would have done the job myself is if there hadnt been a recall and a harping missus involved.

why does my XC60 D5 LE cost equivalent to GBP 45K and a normal service on my subaru forester about AU$300? That's the price to own and run cars.

Returned my XC60 T6 to the stealers to have the latest recall attended to.
I've just been in touch with my dealer as a result of this post (Melbourne City Volvo). They advise me that the only relevant recalls for the XC60 relate to the D5 diesel and not the T6. I note you have a T6. Therefore I'm confused as to what recall work you would have had done?
