What turbo / waste gate are you using?

Hi, the car is fitted with a GT3076R and obviously an external wastegate, not sure what make the external wastegate is, it came as part of the turbo kit.

Hey Jacq,

I believe its a TIAL external wastegate as that is what VMS tend to supply.

Good news, a few of the cars in The Garage just now have them fitted so should prove easy to get it strenghtened up a bit in a couple of months once the car's all bedded in and happy.

Mikey - indeed it is rated to 500, we intend to try wringing it's neck in due course Though that doesn't guarantee it will make anywhere near that, just have to wait and see how it goes as always

so how much do u think its putting out just now?, wot power do u think your take it to?

Yeah it's very sprightly as it is to say the least. Feels Quicker than the Rover in my opinion/

I'd rather not say where I think it is power wise though, as I could be wrong, would rather just wait and see. I also know where I'd like it to be when it's all done.

I know some people would like to see it said that it's got XXX bhp etc, and I want to know as well lol, I just don't see the point in making a guess when I don't have much to go on, not even experience of other S40's with big power to compare it to etc. I'll have it posted up here as soon as I know though, I didn't even think to ask MTE if they could make a rough guess as they have much more experience with the cars than I.

Just remember, wringing its neck will make the turbo less efficient!

Will be good to see what it produces and its graph to see where the line is!

Obviously yes it may not make 500bhp, but that would be down to other factors of the engine.

I have every faith in the mapping on the car to ensure it's at it's most efficient and getting the most from the set up.
