Wireless charger XC60

Hi, tried my wife's iPhone and started charging. Tried mine again and nothing. Updated the iOS and still nothing.

I do have a lead plugged into the USB so can charge it via that however when I do, it thinks I want to start Apple car play.

Devoid of ideas now.

i have an aliexpress special too, unfortunately my phone is quite large with a 6" screen and consequently misses the Qi sweet spot by about half an inch. I have to open the other slide lid and move my phone forward a little get a charge going, even then it s a bit slow at about 400mAh.

I have charge mat that reaches over 1Ah and I'm considering modding the Aliexpress charger with the innards of that :-)

If your wifes iPhone charges OK and yours doesn't then the fault lies with your phone.

If you wish to charge your iPhone in the car then the only way appears to be to buy a USB charging adapter for the "cigar" lighter socket ( a few quid on Amazon).

Actually have you tried both USB sockets as it may be only one is fully data enabled and tries to activate car play.

Also assume you followed my advice in post #7

Yes I did try #7 suggestion but no different. I will now try the other usb to see if that doesn't invoke car play. Failing that I will try a cigar lighter adaptor. Thanks for your help.

I’ve got the iPhone 13 Pro Max it’s fairly sizeable just overhangs the 1st cup holder but it’s still usable with the small slider shut. Seems to charge at good speed and the two usb ports to charge from a nice bonus, the sprogs have seen to using that already!
