RE: RICA 280 vs. 304
Well there you have it. Go for the 280 bhp version. No one will dispute this. Price is £340.75 inc VAT and the official figures are 280 bhp and 405 Nm torque.

Don,
Have you ever compared the Rica and MTE software to see if there are any significant differences in boost pressure, fueling, timing etc? Simon |

Interesting. So Don, what you are effectively saying is that "Anyone" that has paid money for a Rica 300+ BHP off the shelf upgrade is stupid and gullible, has been lied to and tricked out of money. Also you are effectively saying that Rica Engineering BV (An international company that works with most major manufacturers in the automotive industry wordwide and that has been in business for years) is making false claims and lying to its customers.....? Is that what you are saying Don? (And i would like a reply please) |

>>It is just a plain lack of honesty..maybe stupidity or >>gullibility for any party, be they a supplier or user to >make >>exagerated and/or unachievable claims for a product and its >>effect in this respect. I think this is a very fair point and wish that all businesses abide by such policies. Any business which exagerates their claims will eventually get caught out and have to face the music; its simply a matter of time. >So Don, what you are effectively saying is that "Anyone" that >has paid money for a Rica 300+ BHP off the shelf upgrade is >stupid and gullible, has been lied to and tricked out of >money. So then Shestica, are you then categorically stating that every car which gets a RICA 300+bhp remap indeed has 300+bhp and no less? I would like an answer too :-) |

RE: RICA 280 vs. 304
Sorry forgot the text....lol
Here ya go: http://img210.imageshack.us/img210/6...ingroad8da.jpg Here is my Graph from my rolling roads. The Black is the Rica chip and the Red is the run done with MTE. Ok so they wern't done on the same day but you can see that both bits of software give the same power BUT the MTE software gave me more torque. I paid nearly £600 for my RICA and never saw the 300BHP promised by the advert....Has anyone? If so maybe you should post your results also, if carried out on a 3rd party rolling road. And my car now has a Hybrid Turbo from Turbo Technics, a 2.5" cat back system and a KN induction kit and I still only see 195BHP at the wheels. Please bear in mind my car is now customed mapped to allow everyday SAFE driving (limited to 1.1Bar)...No worries of it blowing up in my face or bending something. Maybe why I only see 195BHP. I also have some more graphs from before anything was done other than the Rica map...they only show 173BHP!!!!!! Remember I paid nearly £600 for a 300 Bhp upgrade ....... 1996 T5R 855....90ish K on the clock when chipped 300BHP..............NO CHANCE!!!!! Please also remember I have the only Hybrid turbo fitted to an 850 in the UK and this cost me alot and gave me an extra 22bhp. So when Don say's you have to spend money he means it....lol See my link below for other graphs. Regards Iain

RE: RICA 280 vs. 304
Shestica
So your not claiming that Rica or whoever supplies the chip can give a T5R 300 bhp? Just by playing with the ECU program? And if this is the case why do you question Don? Regards Iain

No problem, I totally understand your reluctance to answer my question. Actually, I think it looks like some others have answered it for you ;-) |
